Day 6 - My life as a stay at home wife / painter

Today begins day 6 of my life at home, and I'm so glad Geoff's boss (Casey) is letting me borrow a computer for the week. Not sure how much longer I could have taken being so disconnected from the world. I was finally able to catch up on email and read some blogs over my morning coffee. This is very important business!

First, I want to let Ali and Matt know that our thoughts and prayers are with them, and that I'm sure everything will be fine. Baby Hunt was probably tired of all the planning, and wanted to change things up! (Even more reason that I still think it's a boy!)

Second, I can't wait for my "girls" trip to Chicago this weeekend. Although with 3 of my closest friends being pregnant, I'm sure there will be lots of baby talk this weekend. Bethany, Gretchen and I (as the non-pregnant ones) will have to stick together! The pregnant ones are: Anna (pregnant with twins, a boy & girl), Kim (pregnant with a girl), and Jess (who just today told me she was pregnant!!) Wow!! These 4 babies are taking over the trip! just kidding....I'm so excited to see everyone and hear all about it!

Third, Congrats to Josie and Noll! Yesterday, I got to go visit their new baby boy, Max. He is super cute, and everyone is doing well! He is about 10 days old and about 10 pounds now. Even though we are becoming surrounded with babies, it still has been a long time since I have held one that small, and it is such a crazy feeling. Don't worry Josie, you will figure everything out!

Yesterday, I also got to go to go see my friend Tara's babies in their new swim class. It is called Infant Swimming Resource. For all of you with babies, I thought this would be really good info. This is not a go splash in the water swim class, this is a survival class. Go to their website and watch the clip from the Today show. http://www.infantswim.com/news-and-events/todayshow.html This is exactly what I witnessed yesterday. After seeing Reid, (her 9 month old boy in the pool floating on his back on his own, I am sold on this class!) It really was amazing and totally gave me chills! They would flip him up-side-down and let go, and he would just roll over on his back and float. And, then Tyler, who is almost 2 1/2, could swim towards the side of the pool and take breaks by rolling on her back and floating for a little bit, and then swim some more to the side. Although there is some controversy on this topic, not one of their students has been a victim of drowning. That is proof enough to me that this REALLY works!

Lastly, as the title of this post suggests, although, I took a break from painting yesterday, I am back at it today. So far I have finished the kitchen, and the guest bathroom (complete with a new vanity light and cabinet hardware). Today I'm working on the guest bedroom. I'll post some before and after pictures when I'm done.
