Notice the link that it wants you to click on says Bank of America, but when you hover over it(DO NOT CLICK ON IT), you see that it would be connecting you to "thatssmashing.com", where I'm sure it would look just like Bank of America. You would then enter your banking log on and password, and just like that, they would have all your info to later log on to the real website and steal your money!
Apparently this is very common because there is a section on BofA's real website and an email address dedicated to report phishing emails. Please be observant and extra cautious before clicking on any link that you do not recognize!
If you do receive any emails like this, also report it to your bank. Here is the email address if you use Bank of America: abuse@bankofamerica.com After reporting this, I immediately received an automated email back, and was confident that they were looking into this. After 1 hour, I received another email saying that this was in fact a fraudulent website and they were in the process of trying to shut it down.
Be aware, don't fall into the phishing traps, and Happy Friday!
