Jackpot!

No, I didn't win the lottery, I wish that was the case. Today is my first PAYDAY with Rubbermaid, so I just thought I would share my excitement!

Sorry to keep you all in suspense. My career with Motorsports ended almost as quickly as a Sunday race. I was only there for about 2 weeks, which is how long it feels if you actually watch a race. I am now at a new finance position with Newell Rubbermaid. My friend Amanda also works there (she is not in the same group), but is actually the one that referred me for this job. I am in the Amerock /Ashland division, at least until they split up at the end of the year. Then I will be on the Ashland side. Amerock makes all the cool cabinet and door knobs that are sold at Lowe's, Home Depot, and now they even have a new line at Wal-mart. Ashland primarily makes the locks that go on windows, so the biggest customers are the window manufacturers (Anderson, Pella, etc).

This division just recently moved to Huntersville from Maryland, and the person that used to be in my position didn't want to move, so that was great news for me! So far I really like it, although it has been a little crazy starting out in the middle of a quarter end close / forecast time. Once I am up to speed, I will be working with the Marketing & Selling teams doing reporting and forecasting. The people are great, and I am loving my 13 minute commute!
