Day 1 - Kitchen Demo

Well, day 1 is done and I can not believe the difference one day can make. They already took out the wall behind the fridge, and opened up the 2 pantries to create 1 huge one. They also removed the some of the vinyl flooring, and unfortunately figured out that there are 6 layers and thousands of nails. Things are moving so fast! Can't wait to see what day 2 brings!

not much new from this angle......but wait until we go into the kitchen. I will take you on a quick tour so you can see every angle. We'll start on the inside of the kitchen looking at the wall on the left and work our way around.

Walking into the kitchen and turning all the way to the left. Look below.....they are getting ready to take the load bearing wall out. just need to get all the electrical moved first.

Keep going around the kitchen......Wow....there used to be 2 pantry doors there. After they are done we will have 1 big walk in pantry instead of 2 that were not functional because they were too deep.

And, there used to be a wall there with the fridge. You can see on the floor where the wall was. On the back wall where the paneling is, there used to be corner cabinets on top and bottom. These were also not that functional because the fridge was right up next to them, and you couldn't get back into the corner.

A different angle of the above photo.

From this angle below, not much has changed, they are still working on the floors, but you can see that they have started getting the eletrical stuff ready for the undercabinet lighting. The right side next to the cabinet is where our wine fridge goes. Above it they will relocate a cabinet that was removed from the other wall.

Hope you enjoyed the quick spin around the kitchen! I told you it would be a big change, especially for only 1 day of work!
